Azeri Shepherd in Georgia
During the summer months, before the sun rises over the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia, the many shepherd camps scattered throughout the region are bustling with activity. By the time the sun peeks over the top of the mountains, the shepherds have sorted and divided the flock. Each shepherd easily controls the almost 100 sheep in the flock, using only a shepherds crook. as they guide their sheep to fresh pastures and water for the day. The cool of the morning at 2500m is a refreshing way to begin the day and the flocks will be out in the pasture long before the day heats.
